Route 54 is proposed to become High Frequency Route O54. The O54 would be streamlined to eliminate variants and would be proposed as a high frequency route.

Key Route Improvements
- Would retain direct connections between the Northside, Polish Hill, the Strip, Bloomfield, Oakland and the South Side.
- Would increase frequency with 20 minute peak weekday service.

Route Highlights
- The O54 would be streamlined to eliminate variants and would be proposed as a high frequency route.
- The O54 would terminate in South Side Works. Service from Oakland to S 18th St would be provided by the O45, which also serves Brownsville Rd through Carrick.
- Service to South Hilltop communities would be served by the D40, D44, D48, O45, D51 and light rail.
- Service on Penn Ave would be provided by the D88.
