Proposed: Route D5 Aspinwall via Sharpsburg, Etna, Millvale
Route D5 is proposed as a New Route. D5 would link various neighborhood business districts including Aspinwall, Sharpsburg, Etna, and Millvale. Connections to Oakland, East End, North Hills and greater Northside would be available along the route.
Key Route Improvements
- Would retain connections between Downtown, Millvale, Etna, Sharpsburg, and Aspinwall at 40 min frequency.
- Would retain existing coverage on Seavey Rd/ Parker St through Shaler and Etna.
- Would retain portions of existing Routes 1 and 2 to provide connections within the Allegheny Valley.
Route Highlights
- D5 would link various neighborhood business districts including Aspinwall, Sharpsburg, Etna, and Millvale. Connections to Oakland, East End, North Hills and greater Northside would be available along the route.
- Connections to Harmar and greater Allegheny Valley would be provided at Waterworks.
- In addition to the D5, Sharpsburg would have direct access to Downtown on the D91 (every 30 min).
- In addition to the D5, Aspinwall would have direct access to Downtown on the D75 (every 20 min) and the D91 (every 30 min).
- Portions of existing Routes 1 and 2 with the highest transit demand are proposed to be combined to create Route D5.
