Route 65 Squirrel Hill

Existing: Route 65 Squirrel Hill

Route 65 is proposed to be discontinued. Service to the area would be provided via the proposed routes X60, X65, O93, D53, D58.

Route 65 would be discontinued due to low ridership and proximity to other high-frequency routes.
PRTX service would provide frequent connections to Oakland and Downtown for Squirrel Hill riders.
The D58 would provide connections to Greenfield, Oakland, and Downtown.

The 65 lost much of its ridership after the COVID pandemic and has not rebounded. Additionally, PRTX service enhancements would strengthen the existing connection between Squirrel Hill and Oakland/Downtown, decreasing the demand for the existing 65.
O93 would connect Beacon St, Shady Ave, and Forward Ave to Oakland.
The existing commuter Route 65 would be replaced with more frequent, daily service and new connections.
Direct service from Squirrel Hill to Downtown would be provided by the X60, X65, and D58.
