Corridor projects improve infrastructure and service on routes served by light rail, busways, or multiple on-street routes. These projects can also establish new corridors that do not currently exist to better connect our region.

Active Projects

The following projects are being actively pursued by PRT at this time. Not all projects currently have open engagement opportunities.
  • Homestead to McKeesport Transit Improvements

    This project includes transit upgrades between Homestead and McKeesport on the 61C corridor, running mostly along State Route 837, and serving four other bus routes along the course.

Upcoming Projects

The following projects have been identified but have not started.
  • Extending the MLK Jr. East Busway

    This project will develop a plan for extending PRT's MLK Jr. East Busway from its current endpoint at Roslyn Station in Swissvale eastward through Rankin, Braddock, and East Pittsburgh.
