To support the route changes proposed by the NEXTransit Downtown Plan, six temporary bus boarding platforms are being installed next to the sidewalk within the right-of-way.
These temporary platforms will provide ease of access for bus boarding and alighting, and add to sidewalk space at bus stops where high numbers of riders are expected. Downtown already has a similar temporary bus boarding platform on Liberty Avenue near Smithfield Street. Learn more about the locations of these platforms and what to expect below.
Platform Locations
The following locations as shown on the map, will have temporary bus boarding platforms:
- Forbes Avenue at Grant Street
- Wood Street at Forbes Avenue
- Stanwix Street between Penn Avenue and Fort Duquesne Boulevard
- Fort Duquesne Boulevard at 6th Street
- 7th Street between Penn Avenue and Fort Duquesne Boulevard
- Wood Street at Sixth Avenue
