Pittsburgh Regional Transit's Art Program transforms transit spaces into accessible, welcoming, and engaging environments that enhance the rider experience. By integrating meaningful, accessible artwork, PRT aims to celebrate the many voices, cultures, and stories that shape our region - fostering a sense of place and enriching every rider's journey with creativity, connection, and belonging.

Program History

PRT's art collection was established in the mid-1980s with works funded through public grants and private donations. Since then, it has expanded to include a diverse array of permanent and temporary artworks by both locally and internationally recognized artists. In 2021, PRT formalized its commitment to public art by adopting an official art policy and is currently in the process of developing the program.
